Mould & Tooling Cleaning
If your moulds are picking up residue, your cycle times go up and your reject rate follows — vapour blasting cleans them properly without touching your tolerances.
What We Clean
We work with toolmakers, moulders, die casters, and extrusion companies across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. If it goes in a press or a die, we can clean it:
- Injection moulds and blow moulds
- Die cast dies
- Extrusion dies
- Rubber moulds and thermoforming tools
- Core pins and ejector plates
- Any precision tooling with deposits you can't scrub off without causing damage
Common deposits: plastic residue, rubber buildup, release agent accumulation, carbon deposits, oxide layers. The aqua blasting process removes all of them.
Why Vapour Blasting Works for Moulds
The process uses a slurry of fine abrasive media and water. It's gentler than dry blasting, produces no heat, and — critically — causes no dimensional change. The geometry of your mould comes out exactly as it went in.
- No dimensional change — parting lines, fine detail, and tight tolerances stay intact
- No eroding of sharp edges — wet blasting is far gentler than grit blasting
- Faster than chemical cleaning — no soak time, no neutralising, no hazardous waste disposal
- Extends mould life — regular cleaning prevents buildup from causing damage over time
- Even finish — wet blasting (also called vapor blasting) leaves a consistent surface that helps with release
If you've been using chemical cleaners and spending hours scrubbing by hand, this is quicker and does a better job.
Maintenance Contracts
If you're running moulds on a regular cycle, a cleaning schedule makes sense. Send them to us between production runs — we turn them around in 1–4 working days and send them back ready to go. We can work around your production schedule.
Talk to us about what intervals work for your tooling. Some customers send monthly, some quarterly — depends on the material, the cycle times, and how fussy the job is.
Pricing & Turnaround
- Small parts (core pins, ejector plates) from £5
- Larger components and mould halves £50–200+ depending on size and condition
- Complex assemblies or multiple-cavity tools quoted individually
- Turnaround: 1–4 working days (call us if you're up against it)
We're in Lincolnshire. You can drop parts off or send them by courier — we'll let you know when they're ready.
